After a career in advertising and exhibitions, including owning and launching the London Golf Show, the London Boat, Caravan & Camping Show and a wide range of wedding shows, Gary decided to leave working in the City behind to work from home and develop his hobby of sharpening. Completing numerous scissor and knife sharpening training courses - accredited by leading UK and USA authorities - Gary decided to launch Gary Barbe Blade Sharpener in order to service businesses and homes across South West London, Middlesex and Surrey.

Gary Barbe Blade Sharpener has evolved into a high-quality sharpening business, servicing hairdressers, barbers, dog groomers, dress and interior designers, numerous chefs and thousands of homes throughout the service area, as well as stables and equestrian centres from further afield. Gary and the team love what they do. There is a great atmosphere in the workshop, where clients are always greeted with a friendly face and where the utmost pride is taken when it comes to the work.
